Finally finished this book after 2 weeks! argh! Thanks, deathwalker for the prodding! it's not a story about Oscar alone but about the saga of his family including his sister, mother, and grandfather, and how they survived the dicatorial era of President Trujillo in the Dominican Republic and started a new life in the States. It's told by comparing the events and places to books, characters, movies, tv shows, games, etc. But honestly i thought I had to endure a lot more ramblings abut the Dominican history, cultures, political figures and celebrities than I cared to know about.

I just finished "Heart of a Dragon" by Gena Showalter. It's all right if you're into paranormal romance. The main hero struggles between the choice of having what he wants and what he must do. Something like that. I'm not really good in reviewing. :D

Hi! I already read all 3 original Bourne books. Great reads. I'd advise you against reading the sequels done by Lustbader. I also like him as an author but his writing style is different from Ludlum. :)

Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth by Chris Ware. A really moving graphic novel. Probably one of the saddest books I've read.

i got curious enough how the fallen series by lauren kate ended with the 3rd installment Passion...which i learned later on there is still a final book of this series still to be released sometime next year. ugh! but this book is much more interesting..there are a lot more things happening in this book..with Luce traveling through her previous past lives to try to learn the truth of the cursed love bet. her and Daniel.

The Winner Stands Alone - Paulo Coelho

Follows the story of five individuals moving in super high class society (Superclass). Coelho delivers as usual with an intense study of human nature. This book simply relates how people, from all walks of life, have this inner, sometimes unconscious, desire to put things to right, no matter what the consequence or cost. Though this is a work of fiction, it mirrors our own present world, and it made me realize, people are scary (at times).
