Hey wanda,

In this arabian night version, did it show a lot of s_x content? Am not quite happy with what i read previously.

After reading, i watched the mini series and a documentary. I learned what i read was quite edited for general readers. Not that i wanted to read about the s_x part. But i really want to read about the culture and history as well.

Am looking for a better or complete version.

I will read your blog later.

Hey memnoch, no actually i was suprised you mentioned it because there was no s_x content whatsoever, perhaps this is a children's edition. What I did find uncomfortable to read about (and let me know if you observed these in the edition you read) was how the women were usually portrayed here - except for a few characters they are usually unfaithful, and scheming. Also the fact that in most, if not all, of the stories wealth is usually discovered by CHANCE, not by HARDWORK, which probably had somethign to do with the times when the stories were told but doesn't really promote a healthy attitude towards it. Did you find both these themes in the edition you read?

Thanks in advance for reading my blog, i did mention that a fellow RP member posted about the book!

Dearly Devoted Dexter - i thoroughly enjoyed this!

The first book was mildly entertaining but found Jeff Lindsay's writing to be a bit...RAW, like getting there but not quite there yet. But this second book, wow, it just seemed to snap into place! It has everything that makes it a great mystery thriller:
- an adventure w investigation and interrogation (not quite there in the 1st book)
- Dexter's cool superiority that i TOTALLY find charming (was not as charming in the 1st)
- an unexpected wedding proposal
- and of course Dexter's dry, cool, and detached yet charming humor!
- and I must add - a car chase!

I love the way Dexter refers to himself in those DOUBLE D descriptions:
Debonair Dexter
Dexter Demented
Dexter Derailed
Daytime Dexter
Dashing Dexter
Dipsophobia Dexter
Dexter Dismasted
Death-head Dexter
Delicate Dimpled Dexter
Drained Dexter

I can't help but wonder, will Dexter's work every be discovered? I mean, Dexter's supposed to be the perfect criminal, and he'll never be caught, but it's just a mystery how come the people he got to were never found or looked for?

.. the story circles around Darth Vader and his secret apprentice or let say his assassin...

.. darth vaders send him around to kill surviving jedis...

.. the story ended with the formation of the rebellion that is quite prominent in the star wars episode 4...

... if you ever wonder how and when the senators like Sen Organa, ended up in the rebellion in episode 4,5,6, then, you should read this book.. or read the comic book version..

The Burning Wire, by Jeffery Deaver (Lincoln Rhyme Series)
- I've always loved Jeffery Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme books. I think Jeffery Deaver is the king of forensics fiction. Cven way before CSI started he was already writing about it, starting with The Bone Collector. But this book is now the 9th in the series, and it seems the patterns and twists are now just the same, so it has lost its element of surprise already for me.

But stil, it was an entertaining read. Jeffery Deaver uses the fact that in reading a book you don't SEE the characters or the events so you IMAGINE or ASSUME them to be something, so he takes this into advantage and makes a twist out of them.

The Lincoln Rhyme Series: (From http://www.jefferydeaver.com)
Lincoln Rhyme, ex-head of NYPD forensics, was the nation's foremost criminalist, the man who could work a crime scene and come away with a perfect profile of the killer, frozen in time. Now, Lincoln is frozen in place — permanently. An accident on the job left him a quadriplegic who can move just one finger, a great mind strapped to his bed, mulish and sarcastic, hiding from a life he no longer wants to live.
    The Bone Collector (1997)
    The Coffin Dancer (1998)
    The Empty Chair (2000)
    The Stone Monkey (2002)
    The Vanished Man (2003)
    The Twelfth Card (2005)
    The Cold Moon (2006)
    The Broken Window (2008)
    The Burning Wire (2010)
