Allow me to introduce myself...

Hi, I'm Koori-chan. No, that's not my real name. :)

I came across this forum while browsing and found the section on book event schedules very helpful. I thought I might as well join since I do like read and discuss books with other booklovers.

I like murder (not literally) and mystery; I mostly take up Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Cristie but I'm no stranger to newer crime-fiction authors either. I enjoy a lot of sci-fi and fantasy as well, though these past years I find myself not being able to appreciate a lot of newly-released books for teens and young(er) adults (Perhaps I'm getting old.) I basically read a little bit of everything.

I hope to have a good time here and maybe pick up book recommendations when I finish reading the latest book I picked out (it's Dexter in the Dark by Jeff Lindsay.) Anyway, see you (or read you?) around the forums. :)

^^ Welcome to RP, koori-chan!

Murder mysteries sound amazing but I've to say that I haven't really taken the time to dive into the genre. Does Dan Brown's stuff count? :P

Maybe we can touch bases on fantasy and sci-fi. Gotta love both genres. They offer so much and it's quite easy to get lost in their respective realms, no?

Seeing as your name is Japanese, is it safe to assume that you're into the culture, language, anime and/or manga as well? :D Do tell.

As ms. Laila said, there's a meet-up coming up this February. The jury's still out on the details and I would appreciate your input in the matter. Just head on over to this LINK

We're happy to have you. Please feel free to roam around and voice out your opinions in threads that interest you. If you can't find any, please, by all means, start a new one. ;)

I hope you'll have fun around here. Happy reading and yoroshiku ne? ;)

Domo, Jem-san!

I haven't really read anything by Dan Brown... but The Da Vinci Code (watched the movie though) had a murder and it had a mystery, so yeah, guess that counts. Lol.

I do love sci-fi and fantasy; I started with them. These genres opened the world of books for me, I grew up with Harry Potter and Artemis Fowl. and yes, I'm into the Japanese culture (my grandma's Japanese) and to an extent, the many subcultures as well. I don't watch/read a lot of anime/manga these days but I do have a little collection of mangas that I hold dear (Kazuya Minekura is my favorite manga-ka, anything by her, I hold dear).

I hope to have gun here as well. Yoroshiku.;)
