I have the first 6 books but I haven't got the chance to start reading them. A friend just recommended the series to me stating that it's way better than the boy wizard. Any truth in that?

I read Colfer's Fowl also and i enjoyed every book so far. By boy wizard you mean Potter? if it is, then i'd say they are both enjoyable. But i prefer Potter because the work has some maturity in it. i Appreciate the storyline and how the plot is built. The series just puts a mark on a reader that makes it unforgettable.

Yes, I'm referring to Potter. Guess my friend is such a hater. :D

Ive read the first two books of artemis fowl. The character of Artemis is fascinating, but for some reason Harry seems more endearing to me :D

Artemis Fowl is sort of an anti-hero plus he is a genius who has the makings of a criminal mastermind. It is a fun read. Lots of action, lots of humor. Not so dark as the HP books were in the later stages. It would make a great movie I think.
