Hello RPers, fellow readers!

August 18 is the start of the our read-a-long of Neil Gaiman's Stardust. Have your copies ready. For those who wish to ask for an ebook copy, please PM me.

This is the schedule for the read-a-long.

August 18–22: Chapters 1 to 5.
August 23: Discussion of first half (questions to be posted a day before)
August 24-29: Chapters 6 to Epilogue
August 30: Discussion of second half and wrap-up (questions to be posted a day before)

You may/can post your thoughts per chapter.

I have a copy of this book, which I bought last year along with three other Neil Gaiman's book. Given that, this is actually my first Gaiman as I have not touched all 4 Gaiman books I bought last year. I even have books sitting for more than 2 years already (blushing, feeling embarrassed). I know, don't judge me. ;) :D

Looking forward to reading with you guys!

I have just finished chapter one....IN WHICH WE LEARN OF THE VILLAGE OF WALL...
so this village is divided into two and the other side is something very magical...and now i know how Stardust came to be...i def no longer remember that much sa movie...hehehe
this is my first Gaiman read. so far he is really good in describing the village life and how he describes his characters quite vividly :)

I saw the movie ages ago...cant quite remeber much, only ben barnes as i got a huge crush on him.

Done with chapter one. Naninibago ako with the writing style but i really liked it.

@laila: i agree with u on how gaiman described the village and the characters.

This is my second of him.. The first being the ocean at the end of the lane. True to his style, description and characterization was so vivid, you can easily imagine. The fair market, i can see some circus local style. the wall and the other side was quite intriguing bordering to scary. When im reading gaiman' s work, im making myself used to seeing magical and not so ordinary settings. quite few characters, im still getting to know them

Read on! :)

Actually i have finished Chap. 3 as of the moment...

But tackle Chapter 2...In which Tristan Thorn grows to manhood and makes a rash...
which i think he did coz he is a teenager and his hormones is making him declare fancy promises and he is such a silly boy, and i can understand why his object of greatest affection did not take him very seriously. But off he goes to the other side of the wall to which he has no idea that he partly belongs in that world. Still i wish him luck in his quest for that fallen star...
i am also glad that his father fully supports him in his endeavor (like he knows that his son is bound to go there someday)...besides that "heart's desire" magic did extend to Dunstan's children :) but the moment Tristan steps to the other side of the wall i had this feeling that the real adventure is about to begin in this story. And i really want something else happening already by this time.

Chapter 3...In which we encounter several other person, many of them
@arjaye...o eto na hinahanap mo...there are new characters being introduced na. hehehe

Okay so we have the Stormhold clan and the dying 81st lord just declared his last will and testament as we speak to whoever will be his next successor. I am intrigued now why he made it that way...his living sons sounds nasty and cannot be trusted.
On another part of faery land there are three witches? they sound like one with all those nasty entrails eeeewwwww!!!! lol! okay this scene was kind of confusing to me. there were three old women and then on the side of the mirror? are three young women??? somebody draw the picture to me LOL! or like i said will watch the movie again hehehe.
But anyways, they are also after the "falling star"...so by now there are three separate interested group/individuals who are on the same quest. This falling star better have some major faery mojo hehehe!

I will be now off to Chapter 4 peeps...try to keep up ok? ahahaha ang taray ko >_<

Off to faerie land... See what heart's desire can do to u...thinking about those lips, those laughs...haha sometimes it can make one brave and foolish at the same time. u tristan is one such hopeless romantic or just fully induced by testosterone!

Chapter 3 now! ;)
