3-4 weeks is the usual for me (or rather, one month). 6 weeks is also possible. So far no lost shipments...

Not necessarily.

Sometimes they email you if it's dispatched if it's a pre-order.

But otherwise, check the initial confirmation email they sent you. There should be a link on how to track your books. Input the Order No. and your name. It will indicate whether your books have been dispatched or not (it's binary, don't look for more details).

I just ordered a book from thebookdepository.co.uk (the UK website). Dispatched last April 5, 2012 and it's already May 3, 2012 and I still haven't received it. I won't be able to know where my book currently is because bookdepository doesn't give tracking number. I tried calling the postal service but they are all just plain rude. In the end, they won't really help me no matter how I beg.

I'm still hoping though that it's arriving any day now. The question I have is, for those of you who bought books from thebookdepository, do they charge any sort of local shpping fee once they deliver the book at your doorstep? I was just confused because some people said that you pay nothing as in absolutely nothing, that they just deliver the book right at your doorstep. Some however mentioned that they paid 40 pesos. So which is which? Because I'm not always in the house.

Thank you very much

There's always a P40.00 fee for the delivery/postal service.

If it doesn't arrive today, it might arrive next week, but the timetable you gave is reasonable (mine takes around that time), so no worries. Panic when it doesn't arrive by June.
