Hello, I'm obviously a book club first timer, going through this member intro page. I hope I gave some of you veterans a good laugh tonight.
Anyway, as the subject of this post suggests, I am a fan of Haruki Murakami (only three books away from having read all but deliberately delaying because I don't know what I would do in case Murakami doesn't publish a new one anytime soon or worse, if he suddenly dies [please, no]). I also love reading classics (Oscar Wilde, H.G. Wells, George Orwell to name a few) except for Jane Austen (Sorry, Austen fans). Among my favorite books are 1Q84, After Dark, Kafka on the Shore, Fahrenheit 451, The Secret Life of Bees, A Lover's Discourse and Flushed with Pride (a non-fic book about the story of Thomas Crapper, the inventor of water closets!). I mostly buy books from Booksale, from trips abroad (Kinokuniya), and from a highly secret secondhand bookstore (I'm not telling). I'm currently reading Two Years, Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights by Salman Rushdie.
Well, that's it about me. I hope to find people with the same interests and whom I can bug about the wonderful books I've read without boring them to death.
Alright, enough of these smilies.
