Hi Everyone!

I'm a senior college student from a university here in Manila.

Currently, I'm working on my book illustration thesis which explores the art of papercutting.

Part of the requirement of my research is to conduct interviews for my target market, which is 18 - 35 y/o readers, to obtain insights.

Is there any chance that I could request for one? It will significantly help me with my study.

Below are the questions:

• Please describe who you are and what you do?
• Do you like books with illustrations? Why?
• Do you consider the illustrations/design when buying a book?
• What is reading for you / How important are books for you?
• What books do you like to read? Why do you read them?
• Would you buy a book with illustrations? If not, what whould attract you to buy a book with illustration?
• Do you agree that illustrations adds effectiveness to the book?
• What type of books do you prefer?

Hope you guys can help me huhu

Thank you so much! :)

• Please describe who you are and what you do?
My name is Mikki Shiu, 23 years old from Quezon City, I'm currently working for a construction and furniture company, but I'm also a Professional Interior Designer.

• Do you like books with illustrations? Why?
Yes, one perfect example for this might be is the book of Paul Arden "It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want to Be" I was very inspired by this book, the illustrations really help in materializing his ideals on teaching people the practical business practice through advertising.

• Do you consider the illustrations/design when buying a book?
Yes, It is actually one of the factors or reason why I buy the book; like for example for the book "The girl who saved the King of Sweden" by Jonas Jonasson. I bought it because I was very attracted with the illustration cover, simple but seemingly complicated in terms of the reason behind the illustration.

• What is reading for you / How important are books for you?
Reading for me helps me to relax and to discover more things that I didn't know of. It is also like traveling the world and seeing the world through the books that I read.

• What books do you like to read? Why do you read them?
I usually read romance (fantasy romance to historical romance), management, memoir/biography, cooking, baking, self-help and art & crafts books. These genre of books help me widen my perspective on history and in our current living society, it is more of helping me analyze the past event, present event and eventually what may happen in the future.

• Would you buy a book with illustrations? If not, what whould attract you to buy a book with illustration?
Yes definitely. Most especially for Arts and Crafts.

• Do you agree that illustrations adds effectiveness to the book?
Yes, the illustration really helps with the effectiveness of the book.

• What type of books do you prefer?
romance (fantasy romance to historical romance), management, memoir/biography, cooking, baking, self-help and art & crafts books.

Hope my answers would help your thesis. Good Luck :)
