Hi Laila!

welcome to RP. my fave genre is fantasy. i'm into david eddings' works and terry brooks. you may want to try out eddings' belgariad series or brook's shannara series for starters. or if you've seen the movie eragon and liked it, try christopher polini's inheritance series. eragon is the first of four (i think) books.

Hi Memnoch26!

i wasn't really impressed with the movie so i thought of reading it because i know that in most cases the movie adaptation doesn't give justice to the book.

i'm used to eddings' style so when i read polini i had to adjust for a time. but when i got the hang of it i thought it was ok. the story doesn't unfold as fast as i'm used to. i don't find it as exciting as the other series i have. but if i just focus on the storyline, i find it an ok read. i do believe though that if i had read polini before tolkien or eddings' or even brooks' i think i'd have more enthusiasm talking 'bout it now.

how about you?

hi laila, i'm mindless, another romance adik here. wanda suggested looking up your intro because we share the same love for romance books hehehe. and she's right 'coz the 4 authors you mentioned are just some of my faves too. in fact, I used to have a complete collection of Lindsay but because of Ondoy, some got ruined by flood :( Now, i just have the complete ebook version :)

btw, have you read Julie Garwood & Jude Deveraux? they also weave witty historicals and contemporaries. If you haven't read them yet, I suggest you try Garwood's The Lion's Lady, Guardian Angel, The Gift & Castles and Deveraux's Montgomery stories. You'll love the characters there too.

i have these books in ebook format in case you're interested :)

Yes! my fellow hopeless romantic! hehehe! thanks to you Wanda for introducing us here. Anyways, I have in fact a copy of Garwood's The Lion's Lady, The Gift and Castles as gifts from a close friend of mine and i think i've read Guardian Angel but I can't seem to remember what's the story about. I've read a couple of Deveraux's works she is good too. My complete book collection is really from Lisa Kleypas. But J. Mcnaught historical romance works are the best ones i've read the earlier ones like Until You, Whitney My Love, Something Wonderful (i clearly remember crying my eyes out towards the end when Jordan thought Alex is dead..hehehe i was still in highschool!!!) and Once and Always. and for her contemporary works my fave ones are Perfect and Paradise.
I also have the complete Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn (i highly recommend this). I like that most of her female main characters are not always described as flawlessly beautiful or diamond of the first water as what the ton will say he3x. simply they are women of substance and Quinn is really good with weaving a good witty banter bet. her characters..its not all about heavy passion, or instant love at first sight but that her characters really develop on how their love came to be and sometimes its light yet still tug at your heart kind of thing. okay I need to shut up now hahaha! as you can tell i'm excited to share my views about this.e Please do tell me more of what are other authors you've read. :D
Also thanks for the offer for the ebooks...im interested! PM me the list of what you have though so that you don't need to send the one's that I've read already. :)
