Hi everyone! Bridgie James here, though I prefer Bridjames since it resembles one of my three favorite characters in one of my three favorite novels (Helen Fielding's "Bridget Jones' Diary"). This is the second book club that I've joined (the first one was in graduate school way back 2001); I know that this will be very interesting.

Some brief stats regarding my "book reading life':

1982: The year that I started reading
"Reader's Digest': The first reading material that I read; I used to collect "Reader's Digest" since then (though I stopped in high school).
"The Color Purple": The first novel that I read (I was a grade three student then.)
"James Joyce's The Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man": My first book review in school (grade five)
"Nancy Drew Mystery Books": My first official foray into book collection and genre reading, circa 1988
"Mario Puzo's The Sicilian": The first adult-oriented novel that I read, circa 1988
1990: My introduction to book clubs (as a sophomore student)
"The English Patient"': The first book that I bought and reviewed for a national publication
"The Tropic of Cancer": The book that was confiscated by my mother (which I bought in New Jersey in 1999) despite being an adult
2010: The year when I bought my first ebook, the Amazon Kindle
"Room": My most recent read
