It's my first time to join a forum for Pinoy book lovers. I'm interested in Anglo-Saxon, American, and Philippine literature. I'm still struggling with Asian literature, although I love watching their films. Any recommendations? I'm looking forward to read all of your insights on different books. I'm sure I will learn a lot from all of you.

To the admins, thanks for creating this forum! :D

Welcome to Read Philippines!

Any specific genre recommendations? Personally, I recommend the Philippine Speculative Fiction anthologies, as well as the books (novel & collection) of Dean Francis Alfar and Ian Rosales Casocot (collections).

Welcome GMariea!!! Glad to have you join us! I love detective and literary fiction. In terms of Philippine Lit here are some that i've read: Blue Angel White Shadow, Soledad's Sister, Smaller and Smaller Circles, Afraid to be Chinese. So far I think I liked Smaller and Smaller Circles the best :-)

Thank you for the recommendations! I have yet to discover Philippine Speculative Fiction. I'll search for the anthologies, hoping that it's available in bookstores. If not, I hope Bookay Ukay has it.

Thanks for giving these titles! I have been looking for Soledad's Sister ever since my Lit Crit professor mentioned it to us. I was disheartened when I did not find it in our local bookstore, so I stopped searching. I'll try to look for it again, along with the other four. Thanks again!
