I just think that maybe they could have done better with the cinematography. Like the action scenes, they are so shaky, maybe to lessen the clarity of violence. Some camera shots look like the camera was panned manually. Also, the mutt scene was too dark, you can hardly see it.
But, as i said, i enjoyed the film even though i knew whats going to happen. I felt chills.
Just saw the movie! - thought it was good bec it really stayed true with the story, but i still thought the book was better! It was a great cast, esp Jennifer lawrence. The pace was really fast and the arena scenes were really wonderful! But i thought that Katniss' relationship with Rue was not really as developed as in the book, and Haymitch's role could have been played up more. not to mention such a wobbly camera. But i guess for those who dont want to read the book the film is good enough!
i already said my piece about the movie on the other movie tie in post..just want to add that Peeta's leg in the end didn't get amputated or something..hehehe! it got healed instead but otherwise almost all the characters fate in the arena were shown and i also agree about the rue and katniss relationship but then its understandable with the max length for film. i'm generally happy of the final outcome of the adaptation...most esp. the short converse bet. katniss and her mom "you can't leave again" that was one of my fave part of the book 1, glad to know it made the cut! i learned the movie did great in the box office, i wasn't surprise though.
The movie made me read the trilogy. I'm not disappointed with the movie but it's a good one, Jennifer Lawrence did gave a face to Katniss Everdeen. I hope the second installment will be also a good one.
For me it's interesting what the movie focused on. It's a streamlined version of the book but there's nuances that you don't grasp immediately without reading the novel, and changes the way you interpret the film.
