I refer to Fully Booked's Top 100 Books of the Last 100 Years, and to BBC's The Big Read.

If you are looking for Fully Booked's list, you can refer to my blog here. http://wandafulworldofbooks.blogspot.com/2011/01/top-100-books-of-last-100-years.html

(when in a bookstore) i go through all the display...book for book, aisle for aisle..and pick out those that catch my attention..and i don't normally care how long it takes me (but by average it takes at least a couple of hours)

Interesting...what books can you recommend for russian lit? The closest I have read was Ayn Rand's works such as The Anthem. She's Russian-American although I don't exactly think her writing qualifies as formal russian lit. :D

I usually look for the books written by my favorite authors but I discover good books via recommendations of my friends. We sort of have an informal Book Club wherein we share about what we've read and suggest the books we like to each other. :P
