With the long awaited Hunger Games film opening on Wednesday, what better way to complement the film than with this Hunger Games movie tie-in edition.

It's the New York Times bestselling The Hunger Games, with an all-new cover from the major motion picture!

The astonishing bestseller is now a fantastic movie. Here is the original novel with new movie artwork on the cover. (Original cover version also available.)

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

Jennifer Lawrence talks about playing Katniss Everdeen

**WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS** i just saw the movie last thursday nite, jennifer lawrence was awesome as Katniss, they made a diff. twist regarding the mockingjay pin,and that red dress that she wore may look simple but then she made this twirl and it made me wanna be the girl on fire! hehehe! the important parts of the book were included, and Josh made a charming Peeta as expected. towards the end of the movie though i felt that it was kind of rush esp. the conversation bet. katniss and haymitch and then the next thing she and peeta are being interview again as winners...the final cliffhanger ending left me i don't know unsatisfied? they could have done it better? if i have not read the books it probably won't leave me much impression that there is something more to look forward to in the next sequel. but otherwise it was a great adaptation even if not all are accurate as the book, rarely they do. and oh! Treffie's character was hilarious and Haymitch was ok was hoping he was more sarcastic though and drunkER? hehehe. i was trying to absorbed as much visual details that i can that nite so i may have to see the movie again for better appreciation.

movie was great... i finally get to see that cornucopia!!!... haha... i also get to see that flaming uniform they wore in the parade.... its just awesome !!!!

am quite happy as the movie didn't stray too much from the book (at least from what i remember)... i dont remember much details anymore....

i thought there wasn't any major change in the details of the book but i checked google and saw that there were many minor changes... i think these were all acceptable....

I also like the hi-tech control room scenes... though am not sure if these were described in the book... especially the last scenes when they released the hounds/beasts...

overall.. the movie was great !!! worth watching again.. i will definitely get these on BD....

.. i agree.. the movie left everyone in a cliff hanger.... i think this was not necessary as everyone knows there will be three movies...

if I were the director, i would have cut the movie right after Katniss and Peeta won and add some jubilation scenes with district 12 and katniss and peeta's' family... that would have been a fitting ending and would have made the movie complete...

the succeeding scenes should have been added on the 2nd movie....

unfortunately... am not the director.... hahaha...
