I read but I'm not a good reader

Hi Everyone! :) No I'm not giving away my real name. Not right now anyway. I'm here because I like to read and I think this might be a good way to meet new people. I'm a busy girl. I don't go out much. My friend says I should get a life. (yeah... well I'm working on it.)
I think I'm a quiet person. Some don't agree though. *looks down at the coffee*
I read on and off. Hopefully joining this forum will get me reading all those books I've hoarded. It would be great if I could also talk to people about books we have in common and hear what their thoughts are. Maybe their understanding is better than mine. Maybe I didn't get the author's message at all.

Send me a message if you have the time. I promise to write back as soon as I think of a good response.

Hello Chibi!!!!

Welcome to RP. I know you have a "life", it's just that not the kind of life your friends have. hehehe.

I try to read at least 50 pages whenever I read a book so that I could finish it (still struggling) coz I get so sleepy most of the time. I dont know why. Never been like that before.

Welcome to RP! Pasensya na kapag may matisod kang thread na magulo kami hehehe.

Welcome to RP, chibi~

Hmm.. I wonder if you're into Japanese manga/anime/culture. :P Cute name by the way.

What kind of books have you amassed? Also, you're not the only one with a stack of books that are yet to be opened. :D I have a fairly impressive pile myself. :P So it's all good~

As for (not) being quiet, you can be as quiet or as loud as you want here. Just pick a thread that you like and let it rip! :D There are all sorts of people here on RP. I'm sure you'll come across people that like the same books and genres as you. :)

Oh yeah, I'm planning another RP Meet-Up. If you're interested, please click HERE and add to the thread. ^^

Again, welcome to RP. yoroshiku ne~

@malot1182 - Thanks for the welcome!

50 pages is a struggle indeed. If I'm reading a book I'm not really immersed into, i'd drop it and move on to another book or forget reading altogether and watch TV instead. I hoard DVDs too. So it doesn't really help that I have a stack of movies and dramas I want to watch and a collection of books I want to read.

I guess the other reason why I don't read so much anymore is because - I don't have anyone to talk to about the book. So why bother reading? Most of my friends prefer doing something else instead of reading. I could rave about a book all day and they would obligingly listen until I finally decide to shut up.

Sanay na ko sa kaguluhan. haha... I'm sure I'll enjoy back reading some posts here.

Anyhow, glad to be here. Thanks again! ^__^

Yes, yes and yes. And thank you :)

Before my computer died on me, I downloaded Naruto, Flame of Recca, Fairy Tail, Ouran HS and a bunch of shoujo manga e.g. Gakuen Alice, Tokyo crazy paradise. I wanted to collect them all before they faded to oblivion (or before they became licensed). Now, I'm back to square one.

Mostly self-help books, Philippine history books, a few classics, lots of novels and few hard bounds from book sales.

I started collecting in 2008. Back then, I was thinking I would be fired from my job after 6 months time. So, I started hoarding. I was thinking I would be able to enjoy them soon. I would stop once I got terminated or laid off from my job. So I waited and waited for the ax to fall. it never happened. So now, I have all these books and not enough time to read them. Good thing I bought a Kindle or else... hehe

haha... :P

My taste doesn't deviate that much from the others. Judging from some of the goodreads account of the members here.

:D I'll do my best to join in. Hope it'll be in the weekend though.

Again, welcome to RP. yoroshiku ne~

WELCOME to RP chibi :) i like japanese anime too! before i was back to my book whore ways i marathon animes O_o hehehe!

anyways, my first love is historical romance like johanna lindsey, judith mcnaught, lisa kleypas etc. then other contemporary romance. then i ventured into YA genre more when i got hooked up into twilight fandom (yes i was a twilighter but not the crazy one lol!) i handle the children and young adult section of this forum. so feel free to share any books you have read in this genre or you maybe want to participate in my monthly challenges.
don't worry about having a life...my "close" friends are like that to me too and i'm not so bothered about it. i do appreciate them reminding me to get out of the house to hang out with them once in awhile. i hope we can also talk about some books we both have read and like so don't forget to share about it in this section called "books you have recently finished..." me, jem_chan and malot are the most regular "faces" you will see here :) but really all members here are lovely and hopefully you can meet up with them in the next get together (jem is the one in charge). i am from cebu so i just skype with them :) i have been a member here since oct 2011. so i hope you will stick around long with us!

Hi Laila! :)

I too have read my fair share of harlequin, historical and precious romance. It was because I read all those books that I decided to venture to self-help books. I wanted to be the heroine in my life story. So I picked up a lot of self-help books in an effort to be a better me. From self-help I moved on to non-fiction and then back to fiction.

I hope I can meet new friends here. Thanks for the warm welcome. :)

^^ sweet. I think you'll find your place here just fine. :P I haven't followed an anime series in a while. But I still read manga on a daily basis. I'm into the culture and language. One of my life goals is to read Japanese myths and lore in Japanese. :D I have a ways to go but I'm getting there.

I forgot to tell you that we've a facebook page as well. :3

hi chibi! arjaye here. u already found a friend in me, instantly. hihi yes yes i feel you having friends with zero tolerance in books.. ive got plenty! they are really upfront about it, and it never bothered our friendship. i have work, i have family and friends who always keep me busy, i love to travel, road trips on a regular basis, talk and chat with online friends, hang out here in RP, but still i always find time to read as much as i can. in short, i have a life, busy life if i may say so. but pretty much, reading is a big part of it, writing too, once in a while. so if u feel like talking to anybody about a book or anything under the sun, we are all here. im here, just a click away. :)
so.. chibi! welcome to READ PHILIPPINES! makigulo kana rin samin dto! :)
