I voted for The Hobbit!
Hi deathwalker. That is an amazing story about The Hobbit's publication and I am one of those people who prefers it over the LOTR trilogy, so I know you are not kidding.
[quote="deathwalker"]Hi Ivy!
I disagree. I think it's the opposite. The Hobbit is a good introductory Tolkien read since it's the most lighthearted read of all the Tolkien novels. Originally told to his kids as a bedtime story, the manuscript's magic worked for a 10 year old kid prompting him to rave and write a review until urging his parents to help Tolkien publish the first edition. That first edition was released in 1937 under Allen & Unwin. Most of the people I know even prefer this book over the LOTR trilogy and I'm not kidding!
