Rare and Precious Things (The Blackstone Affair #4) Raine Miller

This is the final conclusion to the erotic contemporary series of Ethan Blackstone and Brynne. They are married, having a baby and still very much in love and hot for each other. But also they get to confront their traumatic past and start to heal. Brynne was given that chance to know the real truth about what happened that night and gave her forgiveness and finally be able to move on, while Ethan seek forgiveness for the guilt of being alive and soon that person was able to give that gift of forgiveness so that he can also move on and live their lives free from the shadow of their pasts. Full of angst and sexy times but I love it coz i was in the mood for it *grins*

Five Flavors of Dumb by Antony John

YA contemporary. This was such a pleasant surprise. I love the characters especially Piper who is deaf but smart and find herself taking on the challenging job of managing a hard rock band name DUMB! it was funny, sad, revealing and most of all it is also about music and how one can express herself/himself through it. I love how Piper's standing in her family and in the outside world was unraveled as she struggles to fit in and communicate herself.

Heartbreaker (Buchanan-Renard #1) by Julie Garwood

my first into the suspense thriller romance series by Garwood. I actually like this one and I had fun guessing who the real serial killer was and i got one of my theories right. I only got two. And although the attraction between the two main characters were quite strained due to the situation they were in that ending was sort of epic for me and what made me gave this a 4 stars. The setting was in a present time but in a small town were everyone knows everyone's business. I was more engaged with the plot rather than the main characters for they were both really reserved about their feelings but eventually they both soften and this is from a third person pov. It took awhile for me to get back into this kind of perspective coz most books i have picked up are written from a first person pov or dual or multiple.

Mercy (Buchanan-Renard #2) by Julie Garwood

second installment of this suspense thriller romance. this time we are introduced to Theo Buchanan a federal atty for the justice dept and Michelle Renard a brilliant young surgeon. The setting is in another quite sleepy swamp town of Bowen and there are quite a number of quirky characters here. This one was funnier and the characters were a lot more engaging especially Big Daddy! The misunderstanding about Theo mistaken for a football coach was just hilarious. i love love the chemistry between Theo and Michelle, their banter were just on spot. I love the plot and the characterization of this story. This one was more unpredictable for me especially the real faces behind the Sowing Club. I gave this a 5/5 stars!

Killjoy (Buchanan-Renard #3) by Julie Garwood
I enjoyed this one, a lot of chasing thru the forest from a psychotic professional killer and one sociopath mother. A deadly combination who is out to kill the heroine Avery Delaney. But it won't be complete without a hunky and very able hero by her side the grumpy ex marine John Paul Buchanan who has been after the killer Monk for personal reasons.

Murder List (Buchanan-Renard #4) by Julie Garwood)
Not as compelling as the previous installments. I did not like that the heroine who is a hotel heiress can be such a push over.

Shadow Dance (Buchanan-Renard #5) by Julie Garwood
I had high expectations for this coz it's Noah Clayborne's story but it was not as stellar as i want it to be. The plot was interesting enough and there were many funny scenes. Another murder mystery that took place in a small town of Serenity, Texas. From the way the heroine was searching for this tiny town from Boston..might as well be in the middle of nowhere.

Rome (Marked Men #3) by Jay Crownover
Physically and personality wise Rome and Cora are just too opposite...but somehow they fit together. I enjoyed some parts of this novel but it is not as compelling as the previous books in this series.

Nash (Marked Men #4) by Jay Crownover
SQUEEE! i love the character development of Nash here...he was spiraling down when he discovered the truth about his real dad but got out of his funk with the help of his very supportive group of friends and one hot very caring nurse Saint Ford. But for the most part in the book I was pretty much annoyed with the hang ups of Saint. I was seriously muttering to my tablet that Nash can just drop Saint if she continues to freak out whenever something goes wrong in her eyes. UGH! but too many good stuff here to rate it less than 4/5.

Before Jamaica Lane (On Dublin Street #3) by Samantha Young

Adult contemporary romance, Friends to lovers story line
Absolutely love this installment. My most fave so far out of this series. Each book focus on different couples. This one is about Liv Holloway and Nate Sawyer. Their transition from being the best of friends and then blurring the lines as they become lovers. Eventually they were having a fall out when Nate was in denial of the real feelings that were surfacing between them as things becomes to real for him. But oh when he finally had his head out of his *ss, he began courting back Liv in full force...i just love a groveling man! 5/5 stars!
