UNTIL THE END (Quarantined #1) by Tracey Ward

this read made me crave for the walking dead series...definitely! ive followed this tv show like an addict. same thing happened after reading UNTIL THE END. i love the actions, the battles, the characters. i dont like the zombies, but thats besides the point since they were regulars, constant, given. but the thing about the story between alissa and jordan, is that this was not focused mainly on how to survive these undead by running, hacking off their decomposing faces and rotting bodies, shooting bullets, or arrows straight to their heads. most important is the development of the characters as they fight for their lives. the formation of trust and the slow build up of romance made it real. the banters and funny remarks thrown off each other made the story light and less gory.

i am not new to this set up. hey, the walking dead really did that for me. maybe, alissa is the female version of my fave guy darryl. with that bow and arrow, badass look, right?! and jordan, awwww! you made my heart stopped on one of those scenes of yours... i can never think of any guy to be with when i am face with that kind of catastrophic event other than you. i know the timing for romance was not kind, but you have to make the most out of what you've got. so, even love was expected, i kind of like how they were not fully concentrated on that. surviving is, and the strengthening of ties and bonds, backing each other up, and strategizing future actions are more important. that leads me to think, i definitely need to create my own zombie apocalypse plan right now, 'coz you dont know when will the fever strike.

IN THE END (Quarantined #2) by Tracey Ward

And the battle between the walkers and the living survivors continue.

it got better. i mean, the story progressed but i still keep seeing the walking dead. it wont stray from there since i am that addicted to the series, all i can think about was maggie and glenn and dad Hershel. Thats the equivalent of Alissa, Jordan and Dad Syd.

So they travelled to the mountains. They seek or hope to seek a way out of this twisted place that the fever forced them to live in. north, east, west, all have disadvantages. where to go now? they had to decide so they pushed through. until they met the dead end, or the end of the beginning. the quarantine section that led them to a refugee area full of 3000 people. hesitant, doubtful, scared and careful, fate had decided to choose what is best or worst for the three of them. that was where i loved Jordan more. the will to survive and love for Alissa but still, he was so real. it happened, the inevitable.

i thought, the storm was over. yes, momentarily, they found a safer home. they built friendships. they had purpose. but in a zombieland, there was no over, only waves and waves of undead hurling at your door, trying to make a scene, attempting to bring everybody down. and down, they went. arrgggghhh!!! i cried when it happened. i mourned for their loss.

that was a painful one. but in the end, Jordan made the sweetest gesture for Alissa. and that is for you to find out what it was. I liked this book, it made my hours of reading it all worthy.

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
Genre : Contemporary Romance
Rating : 5/5

Since when did Ms. Hoover ever failed me. She is good at twisting our hearts, not really loving a not so ideal situation in a relationship yet we end up loving it coz even though the journey to true love hurts it is always worth it in the end.

Praise for CoHo!

Silver Shadows (Bloodlines #5) by Richelle Mead
Genre : YA fantasy
Rating : 4/5

This was not an easy read because a lot of nasty stuff happened to Sydney here while being put in a forced Reeducation system of the alchemist. Ugh! it was mostly frustrating but all through out i kept to my faith that SYDRIAN will hold their center! This one ends in a another cliffy! i should have known. Over all an entertaining read.

WE Were Liars by E. Lockhart
Genre : YA, mystery, romance, novel
Rating : 4/5

A mysterious novel, but i knew what that twist was about 35% into the book. Although i could not sympathize with the main character Cadence, the story itself was quite engaging and for those who won't be able to catch on the twist earlier on or have no idea will be in for a surprise and will end up enjoying it. I do like the writing style of the author and i look forward to meeting here in March next year when she comes to the Phils :)

Puddle Jumping by Amber Johnson
Genre : YA contemporary romance
Rating : 5/5

I love this gem of a story. Unique couple because their situation is unique. Colton is somewhat special but not in a society standard of special and Lilly only ever see him as always special. This love story will absolutely tug your heart and Lilly is a really funny girl, who is willing to do anything to be someone important in Colton's life and give each other meaning in their lives.
I will say that this story embodies that saying it is the imperfections that makes someone perfect in somebody else's eyes.

So if you are a hopeless romantic like me...PLEASE GO AND GET A COPY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!
