Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Chidren by Ransom Riggs...it was creepy and fascinating at the same time. I really like the old haunting photos and letters it give me more idea what they really look like. The adventure picked up pace towards the end and now I am left wondering what place and time they will end up next. I do look forward for the sequel...those wights sounds really nasty!

"Perpetual deathless summer had arrested their emotion as well as their bodies"
"I used to dream about escaping my ordinary life, but my life was never ordinary. I had simply failed to notice how extraordinary it was."

Shark Bait (Grab Your Pole #1) by Jenn Cooksey...are you ready for a high school romance all that drama and jazz..but the many many 80's pop culture reference in this one was such a win for me. It was funny and nostalgic. and yeah Buffy rocks! i was surprise to find that i really enjoyed this one despite the never ending drama of getting that "IT" guy aka man of the campus Tristan Daniel. Oh Camie you really do crack me up most of the time. Teenage fantasy at its best!

The Other Fish In The Sea (Grab Your Pole #2) by Jenn Cooksey...second installment of this series...the high school romance continues this time with multiple POV's from the girls...thanksgiving in the desert can be this much hotter and a drinking game of truth and dares will reveal more and many more hilarious stuff going on. But more intriguing is young genius Jillian and the silent and mysterious Lonely Gay(?) Pete. Something fishy is definitely going on with this two. I can feel it in my nose ^-^
Warning : Major Effing CLIFFHANGER!!!! so make sure you have the third book on hand ready.

Shark Out of Water (Grab Your Pole #3) by Jenn Cooksey...Tristan and Camie were driving me nuts with their drama. Both will probably make your tear your hair and heart out and want to smack them both back. But hey they are teenagers and a load of angst from being in love and heart broken. Of course my fave cool pair Jillian and Pete (I KNEW IT!!!!) are doing their sneaky and very firm support for the two.
Highlights and hilarious scene : Lady Amalthea the looney unicorn horse wannabe and Jeff wooing her...bwahahahahaha! Anyhoo! this installment is from multiple POVs from the boys this time. Still funny as hell and yet it will make your heart ache, be sad for them, mourn with them, and it feels real. I wonder if teenage boys do think like this??? If you have patience and humor for long ass run on sentences then this series might be to your taste.

Fearscape (Horrorscape #1) by Nenia Campbell...it reminded me of John Fowles' The Collector and the movie "Fear" with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Wahlberg. But Gavin the antagonist is more cold and calculating and I am scared for Valerian. The characters started much younger as young adults but eventually Val grew up towards the end of the story. But her terror will still continue in the sequel Horrorscape for this is just the beginning. I would classify this as YA thriller.

“What if she wants to be hurt? What if, like a flint to tinder, I can coax her to flame? To burn for me, and only me? And I remember that girl running against the wind, and I know that there's no going back. I am her future — and she is simply that: mine.” ~ G.M., Fearscape

Horrorscape (Horrorscape #2) by Nenia Campbell...darker and bloodier...Val is faced again with her tormentor three years after she last saw him. In a party that is turning dangerous and the stakes are high that may cost them their lives. Val is such a mess here, she was so traumatize with her encounter with Gavin that she gets paranoid about every little thing. You can really sense that she was never the same again from that young girl that she was in the beginning in the first book.

"The game you have elected to play is a very dangerous one. One king, one queen, six pawns; winner takes all. There is no time limit-except the one on your lives." ~ GM

"Don't make me hurt you," he said softly. "Don't make me hurt your friends." ~ GM

How is that for terrifying. Seriously i'm amazed Val is still sane after what he put her through.

Terrorscape (Horrorscape #3) by Nenia Campbell...third and final installment of this series. Val is being tormented more than ever and there is this one chasing scene that made my heart pound! This contains depiction of sexual assault and very high emotional angst that you could drown in them. It was depressing, terrifying and you want to tear his heart out. That I gave it a 4 terrorizing star actually xD

“Once upon a time, there was a naïve and innocent girl who thought she could tame the beast and live happily ever after. But the beast did not want to be tamed, for he was a beast and beasts care not for such things, and the girl died along with her dreams.

From childhood's grave sprang a young woman, jaded before her years, who knew that beasts could wear the skins of men, and that evil could exist in sunlight, as well as darkness.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.” ~ Terrorscape

Dead Silence (Body Finder #4) by Kimberly Derting...i hope this is not the final installment coz if it is then it fell short to my expectations. which is sad coz i happen to love this series. the villain is just not that compelling to me. all other issues with the characters in this book i can deal with. but Violet is not my type of heroine for she is feeling quite a mess here and it took her quite sometime to get focus. her ability is always weighing down on her. at least Jay get his moment to be badass here and chelsea is just chelz! i'm glad she survived her ordeal that was close. i gave it a 3.5 stars out of 5.
