What can I say? I didn't expect anything coming into reading the book but this impromptu joy-ride was pleasant, witty, exciting, passionate (for a lack of a better word) and gripping.

I have to say that romance, when done right, is definitely a good thing.

THE HOURS by Michael Cunningham. Pulitzer prize 1999.

Sad to say the mood of the book is dark (hopelessness comes to mind). Umpisa pa lang suicide na - actually theres two. I would not recommend reading it if your feeling low. I like the book structure though - split narrative (fits to my style of reading), and the stream of conciousness kind of writing. Its a day in a life drama.

Its the story of 3 women: Virginia Woolf (1920s), Clarissa Vaughan - aka Mrs Dalloway (90s), Laura Brown (40s). Somehow at the end of the novel they'll get tie- in together.

You have to marvel Michael Cunningham on how he can write about the conciousness of the 3 female protagonists.

All The Pieces (Pieces of Lies #3) by Angela Richardson...the final conclusion of this series. I end up loving it and all that drama. I was satisfied with how it played out till the end. Three men vying for the love of one captivating one woman and there was a solution after all. You just have to kill off one of them, one will have a new love interest and give the third one the second chance at forever with her. But the author did a good job of tying up all the pieces and still ended this one on an ominous note.

I was tempted to stop reading halfway (depressing kasi) but was curios on how their lives would intersect. Clueless till the last chapter.

I watched the video but didnt like what i saw (distorted pretty face of Nicole Kidman). Intro lang ako d ko na tinuloy hehe...

If Life is a Bowl of Cherries, What Am I Doing in the Pits? By Erma Bombeck

BWAHAHA!Literally... Listening to it can't help to laugh. (Use to have several Bombeck's book at home, a long time ago, but wasn't a steady reader then so i never took the plunge).

Its a classic, clean-fun, hilarious small book about motherhood, family and life in general. It left me feeling good for a long while after finishing.

Published in 1978 (throwback thursday hehe).

Wonder by R.J. Palacio...what a WONDERful and delightful read. Auggie is a character to be admired his voice is young innocent yet perceptive. I want to share this to my younger cousins. I got teary eyed with scenes with Daisy and Auggie's standing ovation. I couldn't imagine being a target by a mass of kids and adults who treated you like a plague because of your physical deformities. There is a quiet strength to Auggie's character and despite his understandable fears I am glad he gave attending school a chance, he wouldn't have known what he was missing. My fave part was Auggie thanking his mom for letting him go to school. He accomplished more that he ever thought he could and cultivated friends he never thought he would have. What is your precepts?
Mine : Read like it was going out of fashion (hehehe!)

hilarious storytelling, as always, especially when Sam Vimes started narrating "Where's My Cow?" in a cave.
