The Kill Order (The Maze Runner #0.5) by James Dashner

This is the prequel to TMR, in this book we learn more of the back story of the Solar Flare and how the post apocalyptic world came to be in such a dire state. I thought it would a short novella but this was a full length novel and although i enjoyed it for it was action packed there were scenes that was just too drawn out it could have done without those. This one is pretty brutal and gritty and not to mention horrifying and gross. Think the Walking Dead due to virus. I think this could have worked as a novella really. Believe me it is very exhausting being in the main characters POV trying to survive under dangerous situations but there are times Mark annoys me with his impatience and reacts foolishly. I gave it a 3 stars out of 5.

What's that word again? Hoovered?

It happens when one author named COLLEEN HOOVER made you read her novel like there was no more tomorrow. You turned the very first page. One chapter lead to another and another. And before u know it, you have reached the remaining last pages of the book, while secretly wishing there's more to follow. You devoured it in one sitting, or lying down for that matter. And after you finally put down the book, flashback and scenes and moments between the characters kept hovering your closed eyes, wishing it did not end so soon. They should have stayed with you a little bit longer. Maybe, just maybe, there should be a sequel to this.

That is what being hoovered means. With MAYBE SOMEDAY, then, Im officially hoovered, once again.

A touching tale of love and forgiveness, letting-gos and second-time-arounds. SYDNEY and RIDGE.

"MAYBE NOT RIGHT NOW. MAYBE TOMORROW. MAYBE SOMEDAY."

After finding out a few months back that Howl;s Moving Castle was originally a book by Diana Wynne Jones before being adapted into an animated film by Hayao Miyazaki, I finally got to read it! I have a tradition: only watch an movie adapted from books after I've read the book. I don't usually miss out on reading, but I really had no clue that it was a book.

It;s really more for the younger generation, but as I loved the anime so much I just had to read it. And it was worth my while, there were a lot of things/details the film omitted and the book explained. It was a short read but it was exciting too. I felt like a kid again, I felt the same feelings I did reading my first harry potter book. And if I ever have children in the (very far off) future, I will probably force both the book and the animated film unto them. Haha.

Castle in the Sky is a sequel to Diana Wynne Jones sensational Howl's moving castle. I did wonder why they didn't make an animated adaptation as well, perhaps it didn't appeal as well as the first one did to Miyazaki.

Personally, I did like the first one better but the sequel is no less exciting than the first. At first I was a little disappointed that the main protagonists weren't the story's focus but the new characters were endeared to me eventually. This one did surprise me a few times, it wasn't predictable (or maybe I was just slow to pick up hints) so I ended up enjoying it as well.

I'm well on my way through the 3rd installment and I hope it's as enjoyable as the previous books.

The Death Cure (The Maze Runner #3) by James Dashner

The final book of the series. It is still action packed but now the few remaining immune cities are on the verge of collapse as the number of infected humans have spread rapidly and very savagely. Thomas and his trusted fellow gladers are in the fight of their lives against WICKED and hopefully to a real safe haven if all else fails for a cure to be completed.
There is one character death i mourned because i really like that character and yung final scene nila ni Thomas sa Denver city broke my heart :( he was such a good friend. Another character also died towards the end but i didn't care for that character since book one anyways. and there was unexpected reappearance of another character, but i should have known MO nya yung pa surprise effect dito.
It was an acceptable ending for this series kahit na medyo open ended. But i have still other questions about Thomas' missing pieces in the past but coz he refused to get his memories back we will never know :(

House of Many Ways is another sequel to Diana Wynne Jones' Howl's Moving Castle. Written in the tradition of Jones' strong-headed heroines and oddly vain heroes, House of many ways dazzles readers with the way it paints the curious and wonder-rich world the characters move in.

Again, this one is mostly for the kids. It was still an enjoyable read in its own right though.
