Is anyone here a Jeffery Deaver fan too????
- I've always loved Jeffery Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme books! I think Jeffery Deaver is the king of forensics fiction! Even way before CSI started he was already writing about forensics starting with The Bone Collector.
Jeffery Deaver uses the fact that in reading a book you don't SEE the characters or the events so you IMAGINE or ASSUME them to be something, so he takes this into advantage and makes a twist out of them.

The Lincoln Rhyme Series: (From http://www.jefferydeaver.com)
Lincoln Rhyme, ex-head of NYPD forensics, was the nation's foremost criminalist, the man who could work a crime scene and come away with a perfect profile of the killer, frozen in time. Now, Lincoln is frozen in place — permanently. An accident on the job left him a quadriplegic who can move just one finger, a great mind strapped to his bed, mulish and sarcastic, hiding from a life he no longer wants to live.
The Bone Collector (1997)
The Coffin Dancer (1998)
The Empty Chair (2000)
The Stone Monkey (2002)
The Vanished Man (2003)
The Twelfth Card (2005)
The Cold Moon (2006)
The Broken Window (2008)
The Burning Wire (2010)
XO (2012) — small appearance
The Kill Room (2013)

I know this is an old thread pero hopefully you still post here hehe.

I am a huge fan of this series, and the author as well. :) I discovered him from the movie "The Bone Collector." I found out it was from a book, and then I saw The Coffin Dancer in Booksale and bought it, and I loved it. From then on I always buy his books. I even bought a Signed edition of Carte Blanche from eBay UK! Also bought his eBook "Textbook Case" from Amazon Kindle. :) Dedicated talaga haha! Pero I will admit, I didn't like his John Pellam series. I read Hell's Kitchen and didn't like it so didn't continue that series. I just recently bought Shallow River Blues to maybe try it again but so far haven't started that one yet.

Hi Jaypeeesol, Wow, signed copy? How did you get it??!?! I'm also a die hard fan of his Lincoln Rhyme Series. I hope it never ends! I haven't tried the John Pellam series and Hell's Kitchen but from the way you wrote about it they don't see to be that good :)

I think it was around the time of release of Carte Blanche, saw it in ebay UK for sale, and I thought I might as well buy it! You never know, the value might appreciate.

Have you tried the Rune series? Death of a Blue Movie Star, Manhattan is My Beat, or Hard News? It's a short-lived series about a New Yorker girl named Rune who was into making movies. Her character was lovable and I liked that series as well.

I have The Kill Room in my to-read pile but I haven't started on it yet, still finishing up older books that I bought. :)

Do you know of other authors who write novels that have so many plot twists like Deaver? I also read James Patterson but lately his books are not that good.

Hi Jaypeesol! You're really lucky to find a signed copy! Yes you never know if it might appreciate!

No i havent tried the Rune series. So it's not a myatery/thriller?

No i havent read The Kill Room, is that the latest lincoln rhyne installment???? Omg ive been so swamped w work that i didnt even realize the latest one is out na! But you can bet that ill get my hands on a copy ASAP!!!!

Yes you can try David Baldacci and Michael Crichton. I enjoyed their books tremendously. Try Baldacci's "The Winner" it's similar to Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme series in that you get to deep dive into the mind of the killer :)

You can try also Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth. Its one of the best books i ever read!

The Rune series is a mystery but not so much a thriller.

Yes, The Kill Room is the latest Lincoln Rhyme novel! :D And just a heads up, Jeff will be releasing another book in October, called The October List. It's not a Lincoln Rhyme novel though, but I'm hoping it's interesting, because it's written "backwards"!

I LOVE Michael Crichton's books! Especially his science-based novels. I also collect his works.

I have read a David Baldacci novel before, I think it was Absolute Power. It was more of a political thriller though. I will try to find a copy of The Winner. Thanks!

Is Pillars of the Earth the one created into a TV mini-series> I'm not much into fantasy though, my only fantasy experience is Harry Potter haha!

Hi Jaypeesol,

Ok, i'll check out Rune if it's something i would like.

Ok, The Kill Room is now the next book on my TBR! The October List, written backwards? How is that?????

Wow, I'm glad you LOVE michael Crichton!!! Finally, someone in this forum who shares almost exactly the same books as me!!!! I hope you get to stick around so we could exchange more notes!

I can't recall reading Absolute Power. Do let me know if you've found The Winner and what you think of it? :)

Yes, that's the one. This isn't a fantasy, it's very much like a historical saga, but no fantasy. It's actually my number one book of all time :)
