Good evening to all the RPers out there!
I hope you're not too busy for a bit of adventure to the world beyond the wardrobe! So finally, our book for this month of may will be... *dundududundudun*... The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis! We all know this story from way back when the first movie came out years ago, but we fail to give the book and its writer, Lewis, the appreciation they deserve as much as the movie did! It's the birthplace of these amazing characters and creatures and magical places! So what better way to experience firsthand where all these creativity came from than to read the book itself, straight from the mind of C.S. Lewis!!!
and as you read the book, just think over these questions in your mind and then feel free to share your thoughts afterwards:
Which of the four Pevensie children are you most like – Peter the Magnificent, Susan the Gentle, Edmund the Just, or Lucy the Valiant? Why?
Father Christmas claims that "battles are ugly when women fight". Do you agree with the gender roles assigned to the Pevensie children in Narnia – Peter and Edmund as soldiers, Susan and Lucy as aides and comforters?
After growing up to be Kings and Queens of Narnia, why do you think would the Pevensie children just get thrown back into the real world (London) by the writer, C.S. Lewis?
and lastly, we all know that there is a connection between Christianity and the story, that Aslan is a symbolism for Christ. But why do you think C.S. Lewis chose to depict Him (Jesus) as a lion?
So off we go on a great adventure! Hope to hear from you guys soon!
