@arjaye...i will reserve my final opinion on the actors being chosen for certain roles. Sometimes they can surprise when you actually see them on screen and convince you that they are perfect for the character. Like Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace Wayland. When I saw him in the Twilight series as the blond Caius Volturi..i did not expect him but somehow i got convinced but at the same time i was like seriously????!!! he will be Jace in another fave book series of mine.WTFQ! lol! but i am no crazy book fan so i will not dwell into that so much. just be grateful it got adapted into a movie.

done with 3 and halfway at 4. what can i say... giving-up for me is not always an option.haha! actually, at first i thought, somethings wrong with me, with all my incestuous stand in jace-clary thingy but i guess it was just not about the moral standards of the story.. it was about being my usual self as a hopeless romantic creature. anyway, its just a story.. u can always believe in happy ending. :) i have to! :)

So i just went to see the movie...they changed a lot from the book. I do understand that they need to cut out details from that thick book to a two hr movie. Everything went so fast. I am not sure if those who haven't read the book have actually understood what was going on. Anyways, Lilly Collins as Clary was actually pretty good and really pretty. She was not annoyingly stubborn here. But Jamie Campbell Bower as Jayce W. i was expecting him to be more of a jerk at first as portrayed in the book and not that all accommodating towards Clary. Although there were scenes in the movie that shows that he was trying to be cold towards her but there was an attraction. Alec on the other hand was spot on at least in my opinion of his character in the movie. There were movie goers who had no idea at all about his characters having feelings for Jayce had a funny reaction when Clary confronted him(they all gasp! and commented he is gay?! but he is sooo cute!) lol!). I was like hehehehe! that scene was also spot on. Isabel was really kicking ass with her whip but i would have wanted to see more of her party girl and flirtatious personality as stated in the book.
Valentine...i do like that they got Jonathan Rhys Meyers (King Henry VIII the Tudors he was awesome in this series IMO) but his hair was all kinds of wrong!!! duuudddee! he was trying to convince Clary and Jayce that they are his kids! seriously their mom is Jocelyn who a red hair and Valentine is dark hair in the movie and Jayce who is a natural blond is their son??? will somebody explain to me how that hair color went down? Valentine is supposed to be blond and longish...i was imagining like Lucious Malfoy or something.
It was Clary who managed to kill/destroy that demon thing at her house NOT Jayce! ugh! she is not always a damsel in distress you guys!
Also another thing SIMON didn't turned into a rat! while at Magnus' party when he was supposed to as per in the book...that scene rescuing Simon from the vampires was changed totally...they didn't introduce the head of the vampire coven Rafael. Over all it was like short cut after short cut after short cut. The back story was kinda vague too. The fighting scenes were great but still lacking in many ways as a fan of this series.

Still i wore my shirt as a promise to myself when i went to see the movie. Shadow hunters & Down lowders unite!
