Praised by the New York Times as "perfectly paced, with electrifying moments chasing each other like heartbeats," Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief has sold more than 20 million copies all over the world and has been adapted in film. Talk about it here.

i just finished reading this and i love the concept of this series about the greek gods, goddesses and myths placed in modern times... so percy's adventures where a lot of fun even though its reeked with dangers and i'm looking forward to getting my copy of the next book of this series. the movie version was different in most parts esp. the ending...they always do that when it comes to film adaptation it will only leaves readers and viewers confused or disappointed. but i was laughing a lot about the "chihuahua" thing i don't remember seeing that part in the movie...i will just review the movie again.hehehe.

I absolutely agree with the New York Times review. Percy Jackson and the Olympians is one of my all-time favorite series! And Rick Riordan is really good in pacing :)

This is a great series though it was not given enough hype and attention like the HP series.

I found this very entertaining and interesting as Riordan brought to life those characters and stories in the Greek Mythology that we have forgotten....
