... i have finished this percy jackson series long way back... and will be reading the next series....

...its only now that i realize that Riordan is not making "bold moves" with his characters...he is playing safe with his characters.... well maybe thats the way to go in the young adult category...

... i was playing the God of War series when I was reading this series... and the one thing that made the God of war series so awesome is its bold moves in the story... in the the first God of War game, the God of War - ARES was killed... imagine that?... i found it hard to accept the fact that there is no more ARES... and the other games proceeded with the other gods getting killed as well.... it definitely blew my mind.... what will their world be without their gods?....

... well i hope to be reading more books from Riordan...

I really like this series especially the fact that Riordan makes the greek characters appear "contemporary". I'm really fascinated with how he interweaves modern elements with greek mythology while being "truthful" in his representations. I'm also thrilled when the 5-book series was followed by the Lost Hero and Son of Neptune which gave it a fresh twist. If you like Riordan, I highly recommend the Kane Chronicles; his own take on Egyptian deities. It's so fun to compare the nature of the western gods in Percy Jackson with their eastern counterparts in Kane Chronicles. :)
