Hello, fellow book lovers!

We are thrilled to inform you that Read Philippines is turning 1 on April 12! Yay! We're so glad that you're a part of this community! To celebrate our anniversary, we're coming up with exciting things for you! We would like to grow our community's interaction even more! This month we're launching our "Book of the Month"! We encourage you to read our book of the month so we can talk about it in a pseudo-book club way in our discussion board. :) Each month we'll be featuring different genres so that we get to taste a little bit of everything from the best wordsmiths in the world.

For April, let's read Jeffrey Eugenides' "The Marriage Plot." Here's a sneak preview from Amazon.com:

Even among authors, Jeffrey Eugenides possesses a rare talent for being able to inhabit his characters. In The Marriage Plot, his third novel and first in ten years (following the Pulitzer Prize-winning Middlesex), Eugenides describes a year or so in the lives of three college seniors at Brown in the early 80s. There is Madeleine, a self-described “incurable romantic” who is slightly embarrassed at being so normal. There is Leonard, a brilliant, temperamental student from the Pacific Northwest. And completing the triangle is Mitchell, a Religious Studies major from Eugenides’ own Detroit. What follows is a book delivered in sincere and genuine prose, tracing the end of the students’ college days and continuing into those first, tentative steps toward true adulthood. This is a thoughtful and at times disarming novel about life, love, and discovery, set during a time when so much of life seems filled with deep portent. --Chris Schluep

For this book, start posting your random thoughts, musings, and whatnots here as you read along, and let's compare notes!

Let us know what you think! We're eager to hear from you! If you have any suggestions for our June and July book of the month send me a message or reply to this thread.

P.S. If in case you finish the book early, you can start with our next book of the month for May, "Looking for Alaska" by John Green.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the love.

That 77 K is a beautiful and well done bike. Congratulations to Speedswitch on his fantastic work.

It will be ridden when I'm in Colorado for sure.
