Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond has been sitting in my shelf for the past few months. Actually, I think my roommate's using it as a paperweight right now.
While not particularly boring, I find that Jared was able to prove his points in the first few chapters of the book, so the proceeding pages felt like detailed justifications that I don't particularly find exciting right now so I set it aside and haven't touched it in months. I plan to read it later this month.
Recently bought this on Kindle as I am also a fan of non-fiction genre. It was heartbreaking to read about the deaths of noted mountain climbers- but it was amazing at the same time to read a story about man's faith of conquering the fear of death - and triumphing over the confines of the physical body-indeed -power of the mind is awe-inspiring for lack of a better term !!!! Definitely recommend it ..
