STAR WARS fan? then this is the book trilogy to read...

it includes Labyrinth of Evil, Revenge of the Sith (Episode3) and Rise of Darth Vader.

While watching episode 3, ever wondered why the opening scene is a space fight ... anakin and obi wan trying to save the palpatine from General Grievous ship...well.. you have to read the Prequel - labyrinth of Evil...

1st BOOK
In Labyrinth of evil, the Jedi are continuously tracking down the sith. The sith is leading the jedi on a wild goose chase across the galaxy. It was too late when they realized that the sith intended Anakin and obi wan (the Jedi's best) to be away from Coruscant so the Sith can proceed with their plan on capturing palpatine. They did succeed. The book ended with the capture of palpatine and the events leading up to the opening scene of the Episode 3 Movie.

Cartoon network released a micro series CLONE WARS (2003) which has an episode showing the attack on Coruscant and the kidnapping of palpatine. This is 2D and not the 2008 clones wars. This is a good watch before seeing episode 3.

2nd BOOK Revenge of the Sith (Star wars movie 3)
The book is exactly as the movie. The book of course has more depth and details.

One thing i got from the book is that the cunning palpatine (the sith) actually planned to separate obi wan and anakin. Once anakin is left alone, palpatine could "turn" him to the dark side. So palpatine gave away the location of General Grievous to the Jedi making sure that only Obi Wan would be sent to take him. And so it did. Anakin was left alone in Coruscant with no Obi wan to support him. And anakin was "turned."

3rd BOOK Sith Lord: The rise of Darth Vader
I really wanted to read this to know what had happened with the empire with darth vader. Ever wondered how the great Jedi warrior Anakin skywalker (with all his fighting skills) be able to fight inside the vader armor? Will he still be able to kill or even fight other jedis with all those limbs he lost and with all those armor he now wears? Well, you have to read this.

Well, I do not want to give more spoilers. But the book centers on darth vaders hunt for all the remaining jedis.

In one part of the book, Obi wan surprised to see darth vader alive. He was sure he left vader dead in the planet Mustafar. I think this was the last part of the book.

This is a good read for star wars fans.

you are right.. there are many books...

you just have to pick a character or storyline that you want to follow...

i am following the story of darth vader or basically the prequel movies (1to3) that was shown.. am already finished.. i will be going thru the rebellion era or luke skywalker, han solo and princess leia next...

there are several books involved but not that overwhelming... i started with episode 1....

here are the starwars novel list... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Star_Wars_books

i started with reading prequel and sequel books of the 3 movies' 1 to 3.. .then branched out some more when i felt more interested..

now if the list is still overwhelming for you, i can give a reading list in sequence with description. this is just in case you are still interested...
