My top 3 series are

1. Harry Potter - I am collecting different editions. Meron ako nung Celebratory Edition na binili ko pa sa The Book Depository.com (online). Meron din akong boxed set na galing naman ng eBay UK. Pag nakaluwag ulit I'll continue my collection. Pinaka gusto ko bilhin ung hardcover edition na may treasure box/chest pa na kasama. Kaso mahal hehe.

2. Lincoln Rhyme (by author Jeffery Deaver) - I've read all books from the series, ung mga earlier books pa nga I read twice or thrice. Medyo TV addict na rin kasi ako ngayon kaya di na ako nakakapag re-read ng books. Saka dami ko na rin kasi pending.

3. Alex Cross (by James Patterson) - Favorite ko sya kasi fast-paced ung story, and I can finish the book over the weekend. Slow reader kasi ako, madali ako ma-distract hehe. Pero pag James Patterson tutok talaga ang pagbasa ko.

Those are my fave series. Pero I'm also following the Women's Murder Club (by James Patterson also), Cotton Malone series (by Steve Berry, parang Da Vinci Code ang dating ng series nya), and Will Trent series (by Karin Slaughter. 2 books pa lang nababasa ko pero I liked both).

In no particular order:

1) Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman <-- Cheeky characters, witty banter, interesting story line. Nothing else I can ask for.

2) Servant of the Bones by Anne Rice <-- Not that I don't like the Vampire Chronicles (I happen to love Lestat) but this one swept me off my feet and had me read it so much my copy now looks worn and pitiful.

3) Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho <-- A departure from the typical Coelho fair but quite riveting.

I wouldn't say i can't live without these 3 books but these books changed me.

1. the little prince by antoine de st. exupery - i know it's a children's book. i first read it in my late teens. This book made me realize that there's another way of looking at the world. This book also encouraged me to read other books.

2. the prophet by kahlil gibran - This book got me thinking that the bible is written by men. The writing style is biblical. Some of the ideas about good and evil and God also influenced me.

3. eleven minutes by Paulo Coelho - From a teenager dreaming of a girlfriend for each day of the week, I think I gained a little more understanding about how difficult it can be for women in this world and I guess a little more understanding what love is.

Classic. Also, it doesn't really matter that it's a children's book. Great literature is great literature regardless of the intended demographic. :P I first read Green eggs and Ham when I was in college. Fell in love with Dr. Seuss then and there and I'm quite unabashed by it.

Hear, hear. :D
