.. I saw this from my friend a few years back before all the media fuzz.

.. at that time, i checked out the net and was surprised for all the attention these books were having...

.. of course I checked it out and finished all four books.....

--> too cheezy for me....

on the other hand, stephenie meyer revolutionized the vampire world as she introduced a brand new set of vampires... (though am not so sure if she was the first one to do this)... vampires that could walk through the day, never sleep and with skin as hard as marbles... also, these vampires have "venom"... as soon as you get bitten, you can be turned to one of them soon...

no more fear of the sunlight, coffins, and no more wooden stick to the heart.... therefore,these are much more dangerous predators...

In my opinion, she took out many elements that make vampires interesting in the first place. Parang di na vampires yung mga vampires.

i've read bram stoker's dracula and i loved it. it gave me the chill. rice's interview with a vampire was also well written.really epic. so yeah I agree that meyer's twilight saga is too cheesy and too light a read after those two books.

i must admit twilight invaded my life a couple of years ago till now...hehehe..but im getting over it...too true the cheezinesss! but oh to be young and desperately in love with a vamp! that glitters and sparkles like diamond under the sun literally! (my best friend who haven't read the books,watched the movie with me at that time had this confused face and asked "is he glittering?" when he stepped out to the sun, and i said "yes" and there was this wind chime sound even in the background i guess to accompany Edward's glittering!!! i chuckled on that one, then my bff said "i guess he can be pawned then"..i just have to laugh at that)and the more obsessed fans of the series left me entertained...the parodies that came out of it had me lmao...definitely one of my guilty pleasures.

Come to think of it... Meyer made her vampires mightier than ever.. Before, we feel safe during the day knowing that monsters are not around... But now, imagine them being around 24/7... Plus the fact that they have skin like solid rock and can only be killed by be-heading....
