1. Without Seeing the Dawn by Stevan Javellana - could very well be the only book to ever make me cry. Set in WW2 and talks about the atrocities committed by the Japanese during their invasion and occupation of the Philippines. I had to read it for a book review. and it's since then become a book i've never forgotten. And i don't even have a copy. And i can't even find it anywhere.
2. Noli me Tangere, of course.
3. El filibusterismo. But sometimes i have to wonder as it reminds me so much of The Count of Monte Cristo.
Captain Awesome-thanks so much for posting on Without Seeing the Dawn-I am very interested in books on WWII in the Philippines-I found this book on Amazon but with shipping it is too expensive-do you know of a local source for it or a swap from anyone who has it will be great-thanks
