Ok, finally finished this book last night! Now i can say that I've read Pride and Prejudice! Haha! I find that i like the way it's written... The English is so beautiful! And I love Mr. Darcy more in the book than in the films
I have finally finished it at last!!! i have survived my first ever classic read That said i want to give my top three most hated special mention characters in this book: Lydia Bennet, George Wickham and Miss Bingley ..Ms. Austen wrote the natures of their character so annoyingly well i can't stand them.
Is it bad of me that i resent them more than Lizzy will? I find that i may be of unforgiving nature as well and too much pride. heh! I feel like Ms. Austen should write them a more satisfying conclusion according to my will...hehehe!
Anyways, i was squeeing my heart out from chapter 59-60 that the three above mentioned I imagine can be left seething in their situation whatever that is.
"I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look, or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun." ~ Fitz Darcy (Ms. Austen must have been in love at one time, i do not know her life story but i know much that she has never been married)
This book reflects what is really behind the facade of the polite society in her time and how women's ultimate role and goal was to marry well. Reading this was tedious and challenging for me because there are words that are beyond my limited vocabulary but it is one badass writing. Seriously, Ms. Austen is very unapologetic about her characters. I do wonder how do the people in her time reacted to her works. Fiction it may be but there are blatant truths to it that many readers in her time should certainly relate to a character.
