Midnight by Rainbow Rowell - Such a cute and adorable story just like other books of Rainbow Rowell. the story tells of two bestfriends during midnight countdown on several New Year's eve which gradually fills the blanks on the characters personalities and development of their relationship. It's one my favorites, i actually read it twice because the story is really sweet and kinda funny. Rainbow Rowell never disappoints.
The Lady and the Fox by Kelly Link - This story was quite interesting from the beginning, i was intrigued by the "man in the snow" but got disappointed in the ending because i totally didn't get it. Instead of answering my questions and satisfying my curiosity, it got me more confused. The story was confusing.
Angels in the Snow by Matt De La Pena - It's about a starving guy baby-sitting or should i say cat-sitting for his boss over the Christmas period then she met a lovely girl in the neighborhood. First, a like reading it from the lead male's point of view, story like this are not that usual, the story for me was just okay. Kinda sweet actually and i love the ending! and their game of telling personal stories to each other as a way of getting to know the other is fun!
Polaris is where you'll find me by Jenny Han - i love Jenny Han and her writing style and this one was not an exemption. Writing-wise, it was flowy and easy to read but story-wise, i didn't like it that much. The story is about a human girl who was adopted by Santa Claus and lived in North Pole, so the girl was kind of a pariah in a place full of elves, one night the girl (Nathalie?) went with Santa delivering gifts and met a human boy. She also has an elf-love interest.
It's a Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown by Stephanie Perkins - I LOVE THIS STORY!! If you're really going to think about it, this was a story of an insta-love between the girl and the boy but the story was so effective, so cute and sweet but not corny. i easily liked the characters and vote/support their love story even if their story took place in just over a few hours. This got me smiling the whole time while i was reading this. i wish there's more
Your Temporary Santa by David Levithan - For me, there's no other who can make me read LGBT books/stories like David Levithan. He can tell the story without me feeling some kinda awkward (i got nothing against man to man relationship anyway) the story was nice and sweet. it tells the story of a boy having been requested by his boyfriend to play santa to his little sister. although i find the ending a little too awkward.
Krampuslauf by Holly Black- i totally didn't get this story, started reading it but i wasn't just pulled-in so i didn't finish this one. Sorry.
What the hell have you done, Sophie Roth? by Gayle Forman - there was too much racial and religious stereotypes and more telling. Not too much dialogue so i didn't like it. Never got to finish this one. this one kinda disappointed me because i love Gayle Forman's if i stay and i thought i'd like this story
Beer Buckets and Baby Jesus by Myra McEntire - this reminded me of A walk to remember movie. Naughty guy meets the daughter of the pastor and boom LOVE! This got me smiling while reading. Like this one.
Welcome to Christmas,CA by Kiersten White - beautiful story. story about a family's breaking is always beautiful. Heartwarming.
Star of Bethlehem by Ally Carter - the story is about a singing superstar who got tired of his limelight, implulsively changed ticket with some random girl in an airport which took her to a far place but she still got followed by her manager in a helicopter (big, right?) I like the story, sweet and felt kilig over the leading man. Reminded of Shine Not Burn story, with all the ranch-thing-far-from-the-city and their welcoming, big family.
The Girl who woke the dreamer by Laini Taylor - i don't know if there's something wrong with me but i didn't like and understand the story at all. lost interest in the early part of the book. Sorry.
SORRY I HAVE BEEN DISTRACTED AS USUAL WITH OTHER STUFF THAT IS WHY IT TOOK TIME FOR ME TO CHECK BACK HERE. BUT LET US CONGRATULATE JOESEL FOR COMPLETING THE CHALLENGE AND BEING THE LONE WINNER! SHE GETS TO CHOOSE ONE BOOK TITLE BY ONE OF THE FEATURED AUTHOR.
CHECK BACK HERE FROM TIME TO TIME FOR MY NEXT READING CHALLENGE. I WILL STILL HAVE TO SET IT UP WITHIN THIS WEEK.
