Hi christine, a fellow Jane Austen fan! I LOVE Jane Austen!!! - I have 3 versions of Pride and Prejudice, and 2 versions of Jane Austen's Complete Novels! I also have the movies of P&P! - starring Keira Knightly, and the one starring Colin Firth (yung TV series). and I've been re-reading them! hehehe (para tipid!) :-D

Hey that's so cool! I want to see the TV series with Colin Firth! ^.^

Oh yes! It's one of my favorites....and Colin Firth is..ah!
This is the one. It;s a ltitle old though (I think produced in around 1996) but still VERY nice! :-D I think you can find it in most video stores. Ask for the "BBC Jane Austen" collection

If you're looking for something newer, try this, just released in 2010 I think so very fresh .... my latest discovery and by far the BEST in my opinion in cinematography :-D
EMMA :-D Romola Garai just makes a FANTASTIC Emma!!!!

Harper Lee's my favourite author, I just love her smooth-flowing prose. Too bad she only published one novel - To Kill a Mockingbird :)

Antoine - he's my favorite author because this is my 'all-time' favorite book! the experience when i was reading this book was pure awe and probably love... its weird, it was such a moving story...my mind tells me this is fantasy land but all the words created the perfect sense in emotions. it made me cry, it made me feel angry at the rose, it made me feel pity for the boy, it made me laugh at the boa and the elephant, it was a short story but spoke so much... :)

William Shakespeare - Anyone does. Playwright and Comedy.
J.R. R. Tolkien - First author who use mythical creatures. I love his works and how he thinks. Epic.

A tie between Dostoevsky and Leo Tolstoy --- just shortly after reading a few lines from their novels, you can feel your primary life slipping away life sand seeping through a punctured sack, and all of a sudden you are in this second life that has turned into a reality. The way they've decribe, not in detail but in experience, the atmosphere of the setting, the feelings of each character in a particular event (let it be a minor character; e.g butler, or a dog), is a wake up call to anyone who's been living in zombie mode.

Simply daily events have turned into something spectacular and exciting, from such scenes as being conscious of having murdered an old lady and having the realization that you may have just gotten away with it, to the short yet thrilling scene before proposing marriage to the woman of your life.

Both writers are almost two centuries old, but they continue to change lives. How infinite must that be?

Have you read any of Ayn Rand's books? I've been thinking of reading Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead. Are they good?

I'm a fan of stephen king. The first book i've read is his Carrie, now, in my hand is the 11/22/63 novel.
Sometimes you have to pause for a moment or reread the lines for you have to imagine what he is telling. Just as my co engineer said before, its like reading a fiction inside a fiction. But i still love his works.
