I used to be a prolific book reader but at one point in my life and so suddenly, I just stopped... I wanted to feel the rush again of turning every page as I wait in anticipation on how things will end.
I haven't read anything in a great long while, but it's my goal to begin now and continue doing so... any recommendations
It's never too late to get back on that horse, no? You can start with telling us what you like to read or if you don't mind, why don't you join the Book of the Month discussion? We're currently trying to decide which book to read for the month of July. You can find the BotM thread here.
Please go through the different threads that we have and feel free to chime in anytime. ^_____^
pareho pala tayo on and off reader. so i guess i'll share the books that got me reading.
reading wasn't a hobby for me till i reached my late teens. what got me reading was the children's book the little prince. i realized you can see life in a different light by reading so i read more.
stopped reading for a while after college. didn't have a lot of time. then i discovered the short stories of haruki murakami. honey pie. on seeing the 100% perfect girl on a beautiful sundy morning. the kidney shaped stone that moves everyday. got me interested to read his novel norwegian wood. didn't disappoint me.
I also love the Little Prince I've read it a long time ago and the story stuck with me. May I just say that I still remember Ruffa G. during her Ms. World stint using a line from the book which says: "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly: what is essential is invisible to the naked eye."
hahaha I still remember that one... And I agree with you. We get to have a different perspective in life by reading.
I will try to read the books you've suggested. I'll sure get back to you and tell you my thoughts about it. Thank you so much!
