Thank heavens this forum exists. Finally, there are people I can discuss books with! I'm already working, so I really miss talking to fellow booklovers.
I'm currently reading Making Money by Terry Pratchett (he has an amazing ability to mix humor and insight) because I had read A Song of Ice and Fire and the books were thrilling but a bit depressing (esp. the Red Wedding)
Good to know that we're not a dying breed, no? I like Pratchett too though I haven't really gotten around to completing his Discworld series! (Truthfully, I've only one book from the series) I got to know him through his collab with N. Gaiman, Good Omens. <3
Oh and yeah, we do have a meet-up scheduled this weekend. The thread is right HERE and the link to the poster is HERE. If you're interested, please put up a comment in the thread. :3
Hi Summer! welcome to RP! hope you can attend for the meet up it doesn't matter if you're new here. You will always be welcome i handle the children and young adult section so hope you have time to check that out too.
Thanks for the warm welcome I'm definitely going on Saturday! (naks, that'll be my first book club meeting, hehe)
jemchan, I also found out about Pratchett through Gaiman. Actually, I was browsing a website that contained ebooks of Gaiman and Martin, and there were LOTS of Pratchett books, so I decided to give him a try - and I'm glad I did!
Nice to have met you in person summer!!!!! Hope you are enjoying the Book Light and the book bag! You're right about the Red Wedding... but still I commend you for having read all five books!!! I really don't think I can manage it
