Sometimes you get a sense of joy, high or uplift whenever you finish a good book, right? (Am sure you do as a booklover.) I get it from this authors. Na outgrown ko na siguro yung YA (young adult?) genre hehe. Madali na lang kasi sila makuha ngayon if you know where to look. Binasa ko pa rin yung Ender's game ( hope they dont mess it up in the movie) and tinatapos ko pa din books ni Roald Dahl.
Its a good thing na discover ko RP. Now, i need to pay special attention to the book am reading/listening kasi i'll report it back to RP somehow.
yes, i agree wit u. good thing we all discovered rp.. now, its my kind of sanctuary. ako paiba iba ng genre, patalon talon... minsan kasi pag masiado malunkot un story, nadadala ko... kaya kelangan ko ng breather sa mga pa-cute at easy reads lang. hehe ryt now, nagpapaka classic ako.. reading the beautiful and the damned ni fitzgerald. plus, i love to watch tv series... kaya mejo bumagal ako sa pagbabasa. but im gonna try to read more and fast. hehe true, so many books, so little time...
@ mark...yes YA refers to young adult feeling young talaga ako dito hehehe. sometimes i do pick up a classic when i'm in the mood. I love to watch the movie adaptations though. If i really like the story then i try to pick up the book. For ex. i have seen about 3 different versions of Jane Eyre i love the story and i did end up loving the book. But with the writing style from authors at that era it is so hard to figure out the characters whether they are that attracted to each or what?! hehehe. I like Wuthering Heights the movie adaptation, i tried to read the book but I couldn't follow through too much heavily worded angst! I ended up reselling my copy But i did enjoyed very much Pride and Prejudice which was one of our Book of the Month reading assignment early this year...didn't know Austen can be that humorous.
The first book na nabasa ko then pinanood is yung jurrasic park. I was dissapointed kay spielberg kasi sa book tao ang contrabida sa movie yung mga raptors.
@ jem hi!
You read Christ the lord by Anne Rice kita ko. Did you have a review nito? Nabasa ko several pages nito pero pinagpaliban ko muna. From Lestat to Jesus (totally different spectrum), ganun siguro kagaling si Anne Rice. Ender's game is having a beating from "movie critics". Pero sa imdb its 6.9 rating (pwede na sakin, am excited to watch it na).
I totally agree, books are definitely a great escape . It help us escape the harsh reality, painful situations... and so on and so forth haha.
Hindi ko p ntry audio, but i want to try. Hope you can give me some hehe. Salamt!
Hi sweepee! Very nice of you to bother reading my intro...
Listening to a book using txt to speech is i guess another way of consuming a book.
I have a friend whose having difficulty reading (pinapalo daw sya tatay nya dahil dito). He cant even understand abbreviated text messages. I told him maybe his dyslexic ('Ano uli yun?' Sabi nya). I introduced him to txt to speech. He liked it a lot. But said its late for him to start reading. Will definitely give txt to speech a try to his children, if he finds dyslexia on them (daugter in gradeschool and a toddler). The End...
Savor the books you enjoy reading, eventually you'll go to the serious stuff (But dont rush it ) Read on! (Dont forget to smell the flowers sometimes...... Or go to the mall hehe)
Masubukan nga rin isa-isahin ang Pulitzer prize winning books. May marerecommend ka ba na Murakami novel? I've only read Dance Dance Dance and a bit of Norwegian Wood. Btw, please feel free to join our discussions. You could join our discussion for the book of the month. For November, the book we're discussing is Cujo by Stephen King
