Hi to all my fellow book lovers there... i was actually looking for a book club somewhere near makati, after sometime of searching there were no book clubs but i saw this link about readphil.
im on graveyard shift and sometimes reading is the perfect way of getting my mind out of its zombie state. i love philosophical fictional books, books that talk about the struggles in life and of how people overcome them... i really can't tell that im a complete fan of the authors cause sometimes its just one book from their work that i love but my most favored ones are... The alchemist, the little prince, i know why the cage bird sings, how to kill a mockingbird, the catcher in the rye, who moved my cheese, the secret, stainless longganisa... i hope to join discussions and probably some activities(if ever there are here).
Welcome april!!! I also like reading about people's challenges and how they overcome them. Ive read The Alchemist and Catcher in the Rye, too. But My favorites around this theme are The Life of Pi, The Old Man and the Sea, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Good Earth, Falling Leaves, 90 Minutes in Heaven. Theyre really good, and the last two are actually based on true stories! Let me know if you'll try them! I wrote about 90 minutes in heaven in my blog, in case youre interested.
hi wanda, thanks ...i've read the good earth too (i'll definitely keep your books in mind)... and ive also been very intrigue with the life of pi for sometime now, if i still cant find one pablo N. book in my next store visit i might just end buying that one!
