Hi! I'm Pia, 35 years old and joining a book club for the first time. I'm married (but have no kids yet), working in a Christian NGO, and attempting to finish my Master of Social Work degree in UP Diliman. I also love writing!
I'm currently reading Think by John Piper My all-time favorite novels include Night by Elie Wiesel, Les Miserables by Victor Hugo and Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. The most wildly interesting novel I've read I think is Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh.
Among Filipino novels, the one I love best is probably F. Sionil Jose's Ermita.
I'm actually hoping to find people that I can do traditional book club activities with, particularly reading specific books together and meeting up for discussions. Any takers?
Hi! Night by Elie Wiesel is one of my all time favorite books too and Trainspotting is on my TBR pile. So far we only have online discussions here (When the Elephants Dance by Tess Uriza-Holthe won our book of the month selection) and you're free to look around for more topics. Some members here see each other from past book events so its not impossible for a meet up and a face to face discussion someday.
