so i finally get to reading this first book of the percy jackson series that i picked up and it was a fun read...the movie version as most film adaptation do was altered in some scenes...i used to read a lot about greek myths, gods and goddesses back in highschool..so i love the concept of this series and i will look forward to getting my next copy of the sequel "the sea of monsters".
so i finally came around to finishing reading this book by Cornelia Funke, she is one of the most popular German author for children's book...this one is certainly filled with adventure and made Venice sound more enchanting..the characters are lovable and have their own charm and personality. a story about runaway children, finding their own way in the city of venice and finally finding a place and family that they feel they can belong to. i love that this story focus on the true value of friendship and the sense of family, of being brothers and sisters through the eyes of a child. there is a bit of a "magic" in the storyline that reminded me of that movie "big" with tom hanks and peter pan but in venice!
The Templar's Code by C.M. Palov - Genre is along the lines of Dan Brown's book. I found it an entertaining and fast-paced page-turner. Childhood's End by Arthur Clarke - Sci-fi. An interesting read that touches on the "ancient astronaut" theory and the ensuing restiveness of humankind when the ability to drive his own destiny is wrested from him.
now why didn't anyone made this into a movie also? after numerous misdirection on this book i thought i finally caught on the real perp..but i end up surprise of who the real killer is...but shouldn't be too surprise coz everything the "conjurer" did was an illusion after all...and oooh that "escaping suspect" trick that Kara and Rhyme did had me going too! Deaver is a great writer of this genre...i will be sure to pick up another book of his of this series.
I thought the first book was the best but this one is BETTER! I never read something that would give a shock through my spine. My skin crawled and felt a shiver. A cold water splashed to my face that how I've felt in the end of this book. If cursing is a way to really address an intense feeling then, ()*^$#67##$%^!!!! This book is AWESOME!!! <---- this is an understatement.
