I love this book just as much as some women love Pride and Prejudice, perhaps even more. I'm currently going through a difficult time in my life, and I'm drawing strength from my friends and the character of Jane Eyre. I want to be as fiercely independent as she is! The gothic theme and romance are entertaining, too
I think, among all his books that I have read, this is by the far the book I didn't like so much. I mean, Alex Cross has been a detective for ages - but it seemed to me his family has never adjusted to that fact - however- James Patterson is still one of my fave authors but maybe I will read more of his character Michael Benett.
Unwind (Unwind Dystology #1) by Neal Shusterman...i got lucky to find this in my nearest BookSale outlet for 145
The Second Civil War was fought over reproductive rights. The chilling resolution: Life is inviolable from the moment of conception until age thirteen. Between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, however, parents can have their child "unwound," whereby all of the child's organs are transplanted into different donors, so life doesn't technically end. Connor is too difficult for his parents to control. Risa, a ward of the state is not enough to be kept alive. And Lev is a tithe, a child conceived and raised to be unwound. Together, they may have a chance to escape and to survive.
