Cool! I've read Neil Gaiman, but not yet Cornelia Funke or Rick Riordan. Were you able to attend Neil Gaiman's book signing when he was here?
Here are my favorites:

1. Ken Follett - bestselling author of Pillars of the Earth
2. Alexander McCall Smith - creator of 'The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency"
3. Jane Austen
4. Wilkie Collins - first writer of the 'mystery' novel (The Woman in White, The Moonstone)

I'm a fan of Jane Austen too! I'm about to read Sense and Sensibilities one of these days.I'll check out the other authors in your list. I like mysteries and detective novels although I like those with court scenes more. You might want to check David Morrell's works. ;)
I wasn't able to attend Neil Gaiman's book signing. Such a pity on my part.T.T

Great to hear you'll be reading Sense and Sensibiity, tell me how you find it after! Have you seen the BBC adaptation? It's my favorite, more than the one starring Emma Thomson and Kate Winslet :) I like mysteries but I'm not so much into court scenes. I'm more the "typical English mansion with butler whodunits" type :D And also forensics :-) About Neil Gaiman, I also wasnt able to attend. I was actually in the area at that time and I was thinking about going because I wanted to have him sign some of my books, but then I found out there was a purchase requirement in order to meet the author so i didn't go nalang.

Sure, I'll update you after reading it. I think we can form a thread here devoted to Jane Austen. I believe she has lots of fans here! It would be great to converse about her works. :D
